A traditional Eruv
(Hebrew: BWRE mixture) is a symbolic boundary that allows Orthodox Jews to perform
certain activities outside the “walls” of their own property that would otherwise be forbidden
during Shabbat. Every major city including Nashville
has a defined “Eruv Boundary” established to allow Orthodox Jews to get around certain
Sabbath laws as prescribed in the Torah. These symbolic
walls can be a physical wall, a bridge, or even a telephone wire. The members of Yeshuat
Yisrael are by no means bound by any Rabbinic ruling regarding boundaries. We have the freedom in
the Messiah to go beyond man made boundaries and establish the truth beyond such walls. The CYY Eruv is a
spiritual boundary established by our representing Messiah’s presence in our community. The
map located at the synagogue defines the spiritual extent and prayer covering we have on the Middle
Tennessee area. We are asking everyone to help to be
“Watchmen on the Walls” and pray for our community by placing your mark on the map!
We would hope that the “Light of Messiah” will pierce the darkness within our extended region. When you are a part of Congregation Yeshuat Yisrael, you are a part of a “common unity” also known as a community. Help us define our sphere of influence on the area where the Messiah has made us His ambassadors.
